Controversial Feminist Discloses How She Became Offended Over Proposals From Random Men

It is the dream of every mature lady to have the love of her life who would protect, shield and provide for her under every situation. With most females overly interested in how they’ll have the best men to cater for them for the rest of their lives, others also do not really care about the men who may come their way at all.

An outspoken feminist has shared why she became overly peeved because a man promised to take care of her after marriage. According to this socialite, she is independent and does not rely on any man to take care of her needs or that of her immediate family member. She made this known in one of her Facebook posts.

She asserted;

***Some months ago, I met a man. On our second lengthy phone conversation, he told me clearly that “If everything works out well between us, I’ll take care of you and your family.” He is a Canadian Army Officer, who is a healthcare worker and works with the Red Cross too.

That is a type of statement that would make so many girls happy, but I was DEEPLY OFFENDED AND INSULTED by that comment. He assumed that because I’m a woman, and he is wooing me, then my family needs a saviour to deliver us from poverty and take care of us.

I met with him and told him clearly that while I appreciate his good intentions and projected attempt at generosity towards me and my family; no one in my family needs to be taken care of financially. I’m the poorest person in my family, and I still do NOT need anyone to take care of me.

The date was awkward and he called me proud and arrogant to my face. Well, needless to say that was our first and last date.

The assumption that wives or girlfriends and their families need to be “taken care of” is bullshit to me.

This guy is an Igbo man.

I love Igbo men for their generosity towards their families and in-laws (generally speaking…. of course there are exceptions.) But I do not like them for their desire for the “messiah complex”. And their generosity are often tied to their craving for “messiah position”.*

Do you think she has a point here or you beg to differ? Kindly share your thoughts with us.
