Convener For Education Watch Advises Newly Posted Teachers To Embrace Rural Postings
One of such persons who has taken the pains to advise these newly trained teachers is Mr. Kofi Asare (the Education Watch Boss). He has made his thoughts known to all and sundry.
Dr. Kofi Asare’s advice read;
***And to the newly posted teachers..
The first eight years of my career was spent in Rural Ghana where there was no electricity; water, internet, telephone and transport. Some of us only started using mobile phones in 2004, not because we couldn’t afford one, but we simply had no use for them.
The opportunity to learn is invaluable. Never miss that chance to experience the humanity of mankind, the true story behind the scripts, the resourcefulness of the rural people, and your potential to engineer and advocate change for the vulnerable.
For those asking for motivation, there is no greater motivation than being lucky to have been a part of 16,000 teachers selected out of over 100,000 applicants to work for Ghana. The rest remain unemployed!
You cannot learn this in any classroom or book; hit the rurals. We were there to serve; you have to be there too.
God bless!***
