Coronavirus has helped our cedi – Sammy Gyamfi.
Exchange rate politics has become a very common phenomenon in the political landscape of Ghana.
Politicians ,whether they have very little knowledge in the economics subject of not never hesitate to add their voices to discussions which are mostly technical once the microphone is put before them.
The Ghanaian cedi has been reported by Bloomberg to the the best performing currency in the world with a rate of about 6 percent.
Communications Director of the National Democratic Congress, Sammy Gyamfi says the cedi is currently doing well because of the outbreak of Coronavirus.
Speaking on City TV, “The reason why we are seeing some stability is not because of any economic intervention put in place by this government, 37% of our imports comes from Asia and I’m telling you that there no single economic intervention that is bringing about this stability” he said.
