Court grants Sowore N20m bail
nigerian human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, has been granted bail for the sum of N20m following a Chief Magistrate court sitting in Wuse Zone 2, abuja.
Sowore, Peter Williams, Juwon Sanyaolu, Emmanuel Bulus, and Damilare Ademola were arrested on New Year's eve for organizing and holding a protest which was led by Sowore.
The five of them were arraigned on a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, unlawful assembly, and incitement.
Mabel Segun-Bello, the magistrate, had ordered that they be remanded at the Kuje correctional center.
However, the other four who were arrested along with Sowore were equally granted N1m bail each.
