(COVID-19): 18-year old Tema convict tests positive

Authentic news reaching this online portal has it that an 18-year old boy who was sentenced to 24 months in prison has tested positive for the deadly Coronavirus.

Nuhu Jaman was jailed for stealing by a court of competent jurisdiction presided over by Her Worship Akosua Anokyewaa.

Authorities at the Mamobi Correctional center initially refused to allow Jaman in due to him not being tested for the novel coronavirus.

The report further indicate that on May 1, 2020, a sample of the convict was taken by a COVID-19 team but the results turned out to be positive.

The District Police Command has since appealed to the court for an order to release the convicted prisoner to the District Health Directorate to be taken to an isolation center.
