 Ghana’s gospel music gospel sensation and undoubtedly 2012’s biggest gospel star, Cwesi Oteng, is reported to be set to release a new hot single.
The masterpiece of a single titled, ‘I Win’, is expected to propel the artiste to further heights after having a great year last year. Hint of the new single was first received late last year when the singer posted on twitter about a recording session that was on going for his first song of 2013.
Ever since the announcement, hype has been rife on social media and fans’ anticipation fever-pitched for the release of the song. News surrounding the new single release has also come in the wake of reports that artiste management and record label, BBnZ Live, famously known to be the force behind the rise of artiste and beatmaker, E.L ., has signed Cwesi Oteng on as its artiste.
Commenting on the rumours about his BBnZ Live link and the new single, Cwesi revealed, ‘It’s no rumour at this point. I am a signed on artiste with the BBnZ Live label. We inked the deal late last year and all things have taken off this year. ‘I Win’ will be my first single under the label and off my next album which will hopefully be released later in the year.
‘I Win’ is specially composed to make my fans overcome doubts and fears and empower them with faith and confidence to be victorious in all they do. A line in the song says, ‘…make this bold confession in the face of ‘wahala’ that I win.’
‘Last year was a blessed year for me. As promised, I released the Mercy Project album via a grand concert which was an experience for all my fans. I made huge impact internationally with the video of God Dey Bless Me winning Best Video at the Africa Gospel Music Awards and ‘God Dey Bless Me’ made huge in roads onto many African gospel charts and was named among World’s Top 20 Gospel Songs of 2012 by celebrated Canadian media outfit, Gospel Innovation.
Also, I again won the Best Gospel Video at the 2012 4syte Music Video Awards. I owe all successes to God and expect 2013 to be bigger. Fans should expect a couple of videos from the Mercy Project album which hits both online and physical markets in a few weeks plus new singles and videos as well,’ Cwesi further commented.
Cwesi Oteng is one of the few gospel artistes making a huge statement for gospel music. His trademark hypnotic fusion of rhythms of different genres backed by quality sound and video productions has caught the attention of many music lovers in Africa and abroad.
His ‘Mercy Project’ album released last year has produced crossover hits such as ‘Mercy’, ‘God Dey Bless Me’, ‘Kabiyesi’, ‘Okurayen’, and many more that have raked in enviable recognition in Ghana and beyond for the young artiste. His new single, ‘I Win’, will begin another chapter in the young artiste’s career and ministry. |
