D-Flex Caught Between Islam & Christianity

A decision by Ghanaian rapper and singer D Flex to record a gospel song with a former TV3 Mentor winner Erico is attracting condemnation.
NEWS-ONE sources said friends of D Flex were not happy with the fact that he, a Muslim, had decided to record a Christian gospel song with the title, ‘Nyame Yaba’.

There is also brouhaha in his camp, with some of his Muslim brothers pressurizing him to withdraw a music video for his song titled ‘Paradise’.

The s video, featuring Praye and KK Fosu, has scenes of a Christian wedding and D Flex’s friends are not happy he didn’t rather portray a Muslim traditional wedding.

However, the rapper said he saw nothing wrong with the decision. He told NEWS-ONE that his action was a of mark unity to show that Christians and Muslims in Ghana co-existed peacefully.

“For me, I see it as a good thing or direction to go. It is unity- which is trying to bring both Muslims and Christians together. It is just the language that changes everything and the way we worship our God (Allah). We serve the same God, just that we have different names to represent.”

D Flex stated he was not disappointed with the people who were criticizing him because “I see it as a good thing because in this life, you can’t get everybody to love you and your actions hundred percent. When I hear people say those things, it boosts my moral to work harder to make those who say negative things about me to start saying positive things about me”.

Currently, D Flex is preparing for his upcoming tour in about two months. His latest album, ‘Paradise’, is currently out under Eastern World Entertainment. Copies of the album are on sale at Accra Mall, Kantamanto and every CD outlet.

Songs on the album are interesting including the gospel track, ‘Nyame Yaba’ featuring Erico, ‘Oppollo’ featuring Stay Jay and Castro, and the title track ‘Paradise’ which featured Praye and KK Fosu.
D Flex is not a new face on the music scene. He has been around for years and performed and shared stages with the likes of Ofori Amponsah, KK Fosu, and Kofi Nti among.

He will be embarking on a number of projects including a road safety project as part of his social responsibility.
D Flex encouraged upcoming artistes to be steadfast in making their dreams come through.
