David Banner Calls out the Media for Publicizing Disagreement with Lyfe Jennings
David Banner and Lyfe Jennings made headlines this morning because video of them intensely disagreeing over the solution to police brutality became a hot topic on social media.
But David Banner is not pleased.
Hours ago, video of David Banner and Lyfe Jennings having a passionate disagreement over the right solution to police brutality at a town hall meeting in Atlanta went viral.
In the clip, it appears Banner suggested black people arm themselves against the police, and Lyfe disagreed and said that solution would only lead to more problems.
The two men were eventually separated by Tyrese, and the media has been focusing more on their disagreement than the town hall meeting itself.
And David Banner has a huge problem with that.
He tweets:
@wsbtv this is why you shouldn’t be let into our meetings. Out of all that happened this is what you focus on. You are part of the problem!

I told you all about their cameras. https://t.co/cNgOjA5r7e

Strong Black Men (They want.) but not in real time. Only in movies or dead and talked about.

Men are suppose to have a difference of opinion. (That’s growth.) We are the only ones that let our enemy in the meetings with cameras.

Stop bashing our own this is not a popularity contest. We must disagree in private and move forward with understanding. Stay focused.

The fact that we are so easily distracted is a problem. They can perpetuate drama but it’s our choice to keep it up. Now let’s move forward.

Lyfe Jennings took to Instagram to explain the situation and he wanted his followers to know he still supports David Banner’s movement:
Woke up to a lot of media and questions about last night discussions. I have nothing but respect for this man first of all. I think debate is necessary to find solutions. And despite disagreement this is my brother and I support his movement period. I could be wrong but I just don’t agree that these kids picking up guns is gonna solve anything. I think it’ll make it worse. Believe me I know…15yrs in prison I don’t think anybody up there has as much experience with the police as me… #blacklivesmatter
