David Dontoh appointed Chair of the newly created National Film Authority.



 

 

Revered and renowned Ghanaian actor, David Dontoh has just been appointed as the Chairman for the newly constituted National Film Authority (NFA).

Prez Nana Akufo-Addo constituted the 14 member committee to form National Film Authority to help boost the film industry.

David Dontoh will serve as the head of the 14-member team with persons like Dr. Samuel Anyetei Nai, Juliet Asante, Mr. Samuel Fiscian, and others.

This authority has been lauded by key industry players who have been striving for its formation for so many years now.

Minister In Charge of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Honourable Barbara Oteng Gyasi at a Press briefing at the Information Ministry, reiterated that the Board will be officially inaugurated today – December 20, 2019.

What is the National Film Authority about?

The National Film Authority, with the help of the film act, will act as a regulatory body as far as Film making is concerned and provide the legal framework for the production, regulation, nurturing and development of the Ghanaian film industry, and for the distribution, exhibition and marketing of films and related matters (Source: Ministry Of Information).
