I have always maintained that “Life is a game“, where our intuition, instincts and the decision to take actions are all judgement call on us. Hence the free will to choosing from a deceptive lifestyle to being the honest person on the street, yet the concept of making money grow has the tendency of making a person pursue deception. In a situation where a businessman request for a modification to a product to enable increase in value. The concern will then be placed on the marketing tools available to persuade potential customers to believe in the concept, yet the product is not that different from the original.
This may be considered as SMART approach in business terms. However, if “morals” were to be taken into account, a customer must be informed of the little change done to the packaging or some features of the product that may not fully impact any such difference to the original product. .
Isn’t it deception rather than smart if this were the case or should we say “that’s just the ethics of making money”.
