Did Shatta Wale Allegedly Steal “Gringo” From His Old Buddy?
The ‘Gringo’ soundtrack composed by Shatta Wale under the Zylofone Music Label really got many people on the dancing floor because of its unique blend of both local and foreign languages and lyrical stuff – the Pidgin, Ga, English, Patois, etc.
But was Gringo the bonafide intellectual property of Shatta Wale? Well, it is being alleged that it was initiated by a then close friend of Shatta, who comes by the name Kamelyeon.
Kamelyeon is a talent that hails from Korle Gonno and blessed with a unique voice.
The buddies were friends for decades and reportedly did various songs together, but the only one which was released is the popular “Borga B3 Ba”.
According to Kamelyeon, as friends, Shatta made several promises to him which he allegedly refused to honour, but rather ended up “stealing” most of his lyrics and style, which he later rebranded, perfected and made them into his hit songs.
In view of this, Kamelyeon left in disappointment and took to real hustling on the streets.
Kamelyeon has decided to put all the alleged issues behind him in order to strive forward.
During this time of lockdown, the artist has indicated that all and sundry ought to comply with the safety measures and stay strong, for there are red-letter days ahead.
He wrote:
“As God’s children, HE will never leave us all and will keep us from this deadly coronavirus.
Very soon, I will be releasing my new CORO SONG”.

Do you think Shatta Wale is capable of the above?
