A statement signed by EC chair, Jean Mensa in October, had revealed the various outlines for the Assembly Elections.

Prospective candidates were asked to pick up nominations forms from the designated District Offices of the Commission between October 3rd – 5th while the latest submission of the completed nomination forms was done from October 7th to 11th.
The nomination of a then candidate, according to the EC, was to be made by a proposer and seconded by a person who was a resident and registered voter in the Electoral Area or Unit.
Accordingly, the Commission accepted various nominations from prospective candidates for election as members of the District Assemblies and Unit Committees Elections.

According to the EC, no charge was to made for obtaining the nomination forms or for filing to contest the elections.
After all the hustle and bustle, today serves as the “D-day” for all contestants as voters go to the polls to elect their leaders who will be given the mandate to represent their various small communal segments.
