Dj Que wins maiden DJ Championship
It was a Brong-Ahafo regional affair on christmas eve when Dj Que was declared winner of the maiden edition of the BPM-One Dj championship at the Silver Lounge at the Accra Mall.
The competition which is sponsored by Red Bull Energy Drink saw ten shortlisted Disc Jockeys (DJ) across the country compete.
Four competitiors namely, DJ Que, DJ Base, DJ Gospel and DJ Bryt made it to the finals after they had exhibited great skills and styles in the priliminary stages of the competition.
Two finalists, DJ Que and DJ Bryt were from the Brong Ahafo region with DJ Gospel and DJ Base from Accra and Tema respectively.
The eventual winner, DJ Que, took home GH¢2000 as cash prize and a golden plaque after judges of the night, Andy Dosty, DJ Master Jay and Victor Afeke all ruled in his favour.
In an interview with Showbiz after his triumph, DJ Que said he wasn’t suprised to have emerged winner because in his opinion, the best DJs in the country are all from the Brong-Ahafo region of the country.
“I knew I will win it from the very start. I want to tell everyone in the country that, Brong-Ahafo produces the best DJs in the country,” he bragged.
Also, Tema-based DJ Base and DJ Gospel from Lartebiokorshi in Accra were adjudged first and second runners-up respectively.
They both received GH¢500 cash prize with a silver and bronze plaques.
The Marketing Manager for Red Bull, Bismark Odoom, said his outfit was glad to give young DJs the opportunity to make a name for themselves
