This interview is between the interviewer – DJ Sly K and the interviewee – Kwesi Darlington Agyekum (Dr. Cryme).

Background:

34 years of age and born at Tema. First entered studios in 1999 whilst he was still in Junior Secondary School (JSS) but started active singing in 2001/2002.

No other serious business except singing and schooling alongside.

What Pushed Him Into Music:

Intrinsic motivation since birth. Father is a German-based musician with 4 albums. One aunty of his is a musician and an Uncle of his is also in an active band overseas.

Record Labels:

Sharif is his manager. But he occasionally works with A Jam Records & Twi-Pop records.

Payment In Music:
Started doing music and never even knew it came with financial benefits until some close friends started explaining issues to him.

Having had the chance to meet more people to help them via his affluence is what makes him feel good.

Purpose of music:

He sings for the world and does not necessarily target just a few peeps.

Family Life:

Not married but with lots of children.

Reaction With The Public:

He always feels proud anytime. He hears his songs on radio or other electronic platforms.

Advice To The Youth:

There can never be any other country as same as Ghana. When focused on something like music, always make sure you have 100% attention on it. No need for drugs or other bad moves but just rely on God.
