Do Self-Introspection And Render Unqualified Apology To Ghanaians – Mahama’s Aide To Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo's fight against illegal mining [galamsey] in country has been described as a failure by the Special Aide of former President Dramani Mahama, Lawyer Godwin .

According to him, President Akufo-Addo has not been successful in his quest to fight the galamsey menace as his own New Patriotic Party (NPP) leaders have taken over the galamsey business by sharing the concession among themselves.

Speaking on Okay FM's Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, the private legal practitioner asserted that President Akufo-Addo could not walk his talk to end illegal mining as he put his presidency on the line.

The President himself should sit down and do self-introspection and realize that he has disappointed all Ghanaians in his fight against galamsey. If it will even be possible, the way he quickly refers people to Special Prosecutor, he should refer all these cases to the office of the Special Prosecutor and the President himself should render an unqualified apology to all Ghanaians on national television”, he suggested.

He, however, described as profound what a leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon. Kennedy Agyapong said about his own party members seriously engaging in the galamsey business, contrary to the position of President Nana Akufo-Addo.

I listened to Hon. Ken Agyapong on Net2 and I was so sad hearing his submission on the matter. He is not a member of the NDC; this is a leading member and serious financier of the MP. He said something which is very profound, that Nana Akufo-Addo has become like a tree whose roots have been destroyed in terms of the fight against galamsey; very profound statement and we cannot challenge him on that since he is a member of the party [NPP]. He is an insider and he went on to say that NPP MP, Ministers, and party leaders are all involved in the galamsey business”, Lawyer Edudzi Tamakloe stated.
