In short, you could join any political party of your choice in the country. No one really should be worried about your choice — whether National Democratic Congress (NDC), New Patriotic Party (NPP), Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Ghana Union Movement (GUM), Convention People’s Party (CPP), National Democratic Party (NDP) or whatever it is!
In all this, the recent one under serious scrutiny became that of Bulldog when he appeared on Empress Nana Ama McBrown’s United Showbiz and declared his support for NDC’s Presidential Candidate – Former President John Dramani Mahama.

Most comments that were sent on the show’s platform were insults to Bulldog because of his open support for NDC. This isn’t surprising because Sarkodie and Samini are both facing the same backlashes because of their open support for the NPP. Seriously, should this be the case? Don’t they have the right as celebrities to support any party of their choice like it’s enshrined in the Constitution?

Another twist to this matter is how Bulldog as the artiste manager of Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr aka Shatta Wale is being ‘chased’ because of his association with Shatta Wale. Some netizens are also jabbing Shatta Wale because they suspect him to be an NDC member simply because of his relationship with Bulldog. Even though the SM4Lyf boss is yet to make his choice known, he appears unperturbed because he is just an influencer who has mounted the campaign platforms of both NPP and NDC without any severe issue to his brand and other stuff.
Just like many others, I find it perplexing for Ghanaians to descend on these celebrities because they decided to choose NPP or NDC. Why does it have to matter? Can’t we enjoy their songs, movies, or arts without attaching too much “political emotions” to it?
