“Doing Secular Music Is A Sin” – Morris

imagesHave you paused for a moment to ask yourself why some music producers or sound engineers in our country have decided not to record secular music but will pay attention in recording only gospel songs?

May be that is not your duty but we at Flex newspaper think about the issues in the entertainment industry which does not prick the conscience of the wisest person among us.

The gospel music industry has been noted to be very lucrative especially for music producers so some notable producers have decided to only work with gospel artistes and not pay attention to the other side of the coin. Popular names like Nacy, Dan Bassey, Morris D` Voice, Dave Joy and some people have decided to go to that direction and to us, it is mind boggling.

To bring the issue to rest as to why they have decided to go to that direction, our ever probing news team spoke to some of these great music producers of our time and these were some of the answers they provided for our news men at Flex newspaper.

Dave Joy: He is the producer of all Joyce Blessing`s hit songs and he doubles as her husband. Dave thinks that his entry into the music industry was divine so he sees no reason why he should spend his divine talent to record songs that will not glorify his maker. Because he sees it as a calling and a divine one to be specific, he will not record secular songs which will glorify any other person aside the supreme God.

George Forest: In the case of George Forest, he says there is no need for one to say he will sideline secular music to record only gospel because he sees no difference in recording a secular music and a gospel song as he thinks they are all good messages to the people.

Morris De Voice: This man who started as a general producer working on both secular and gospel songs has now decided to go for only gospel songs. In fact, it`s on record that he made Kumasi music a success as he produced works of Okomfuor Kwadee and Kontihene Fortunately or unfortunately, now he sees secular music as belonging to the devil so he is no more recording or featuring on secular songs.

In his own words, he sees secular music as sin but he can only as a producer work on a beat for a secular song but to see him perform on the song will be a big no.

Now you know why they have neglected secular songs right? So don’t ask again. By the way, Flex newspaper told you so don’t forget at all.
