Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia Donates GHC100,000 From His Personal Coffers To Walewale Flood Victims
The vice president of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has donated a personal GHC100K to the flood victims of his hometown, Walewale. The food was as a result of recent spillage from the Bagre Dam in the Republic of Burkina Faso.
He was on a campaign tour in the Greater Accra Region but had to cut short the tour to visit the North East Region to ascertain for himself the gravamen of the situation.
In a Facebook post, he wrote:
I cut short my campaign tour of the Greater Accra region today and headed to the North East Region to commiserate with victims of Thursday’s floods that affected several communities and lives in the West Mamprusi Municipality.
Together with the regional NADMO and the North East Regional Coordinating Council I conveyed the President’s sympathies to the affected persons and donated relief items.
Government is very much concerned about the plight of all citizens, particularly in times of grief and such casualties. It is my prayer that the lives of the victims and the affected communities will come back to normalcy in the shortest possible time.
