Drama at Helen Prest-Ajayi’s husband’s funeral

Dr Tosin Ajayi, of First Foundation Medical Centre and husband of former beauty queen, Helen Prest-Ajayi, was finally laid to rest on Thursday, February 11.

The burial comes 10 months after his death at St Nicholas Hospital, Lagos on April 26, 2020 and was officiated by Pastor Ituah Ighodalo.

Present at the ceremony was the former Miss Nigeria, Ajayi’s first wife Yemisi, the deceased’s children, friends and family.

“My late husband Dr Tosin Ajayi has finally gone to rest in peace. If any of you happen to bump into m’lady Hon. Justice L.A.F Oluyemi just say THANK YOU on my behalf,” Mrs Prest-Ajayi wrote in a social media post on Friday morning.

However, a mild drama however ensued when older children of the deceased struggled with their father’s second wife, Helen Prest for shovel at the grave side.

Ajayi died I April 2020 but his kids dragged his wife, Helen Prest to court which led to the long stay of his corpse in the morgue.

However, the court had ruled that both wives should be given equal rights throughout the burial ceremony until the pastor of Shepherdhill baptist Church, Israel Kristilere went against the court ruling that after the former first wife Oluwayemisi Ajayi has finish performing dust to dust rites, the next person should be Helen Prest – Ajayi who was his present wife before his demise, but Pastor Isreal Kristilere insisted the former first wife children do the rites and this caused a commotion and argument between both parties at the graveside.
