Exercises To Firm Up Your Neck

Facial muscles will lose firmness over time and facial aging would commence resulting to face wrinkling and saggy skin around the neck and throat area. This area of the face tends to age faster than other areas of the face.

There are fitness regimen which targets reduction in saggy skin and gives benefits of a face lift without resorting to invasive surgeries.

Here are some effective exercises to help tone the neck and throat to reduce sagging:


Sit in a meditation posture (legs folded comfortably and your back straight). Slowly tilt head backwards and hold still for 10 seconds. Return your head forward. A stretch in the jaw line should be felt.

 Repeat this process 5 times

 While still sited, relax your shoulders and look straight ahead. Turn your head slowly to the right and have your chin even with your shoulder. Hold position for 5 seconds and return to looking straight ahead. Repeat the process on the left side also.

Do this 3 times on both sides

 Next, keep your head facing forward and shoulders relaxed. Tilt your head to the right side and hold still for 5 seconds. Tilt back to the middle and repeat same process for the left side.

Do this 3 times, a stretch on your neck should be felt during this process

Next, be on all fours. Drop your head down and keep your neck, spine and elbows straight. Slowly inhale and exhale. As you exhale, curve your back downward and lift your head upward.

Repeat 5 times

Go back to the meditation posture, tilt your head back slowly and move your jaw up and down. Hold position for 10 seconds then return to normal position.

Repeat 3 times

These simple exercises are very effective for toning the muscles in the neck and throat area. Daily practice of the exercise will give result in a couple of weeks and build stronger muscles that will give a more youthful experience.

Note: Staying calm and relaxed while doing the exercise helps the muscle relax and more flexible. Burning a candle or listening to a relaxing music also helps.
