Family members reject & curse Nigerian woman for being a lesbian.

There is no consensus on the issue of same-sex marriage worldwide. Whilst some western countries have agreed to man-man and woman-woman unions, some countries elsewhere also gravely frown on the mention of the issue at all. The reasons for both factions – whether on religious, health, moral grounds or any other grounds are quite personal to them.

Most people, therefore, hide their sexual orientation if it is not in conformity to the “normal” one within a given society.

A renowned family in Nigeria has gone the extra mile to depict their staunch religious stance about this issue of same-sex marriage. The family has published the picture of their female relative online and ostracized her for marrying a female instead of the usual male partner that she ought to have taken (per the family’s perspective).
