FashionistaGH marks anniversary with 2012 Shopping Festival

FashionistaGH, a leading internet fashion and lifestyle outfit will offer Ghanaians a new destination shopping festival as part of activities marking its first anniversary.

The festival is in partnership with Bentsifi, Accra’s premier concierge service outfit, and it is aimed at bringing together a roster of established and emerging new clothing designers and retailers, and shoppers under one roof.

The festival is dubbed the FashionistaGH Shopping Festival and it is slated for Saturday July 7, 2012 at The Plaice, the new events hub at the Trade Fair Centre, Accra.

According to a press release by the organizers, the event will focus on the fashion sector this year, adding, “there will be a shell scheme set up for serious vending and other transactions, with an area cordoned off as the Style Lounge for invitation-only fashion displays and exclusive trunk shows featuring designer and celebrity appearances, exciting outdoor entertainment and more, in an atmospheric environment expected to pull a massive crowd of shoppers.”

There will also be a cocktail event, which will see a high profile invited guest list comprising entertainers, business executives, professionals, politicians and entrepreneurs mingling. The cocktail event will end the evening in a grand style.

FashionistaGH, within twelve months, has grown to become the country’s premiere go-to-source for Fashion & Lifestyle in Ghana, which is also gradually covering the West African sub-region.

The outfit covers everything from features on designers, fashion blogs, photography, hi-definition video dairies and documentaries to fashion films, “with an aim to expose the brightest and best of Ghanaian and African fashion and lifestyle, the brand is the only portal that has access to almost all designers and industry players, with increasing influence within the West African sub-region.”

Early in 2012, as FashionistaGH was the only Ghanaian media outlet invited to cover the AriseFashion Week held in Lagos, Nigeria, early this year and also it was the only outlet to have covered Vogue Italy Editor, Franca Sozzani’s visit to Ghana as well as a host of others such special events has quickly helped to establish it as ‘the-next-big-thing’.
