Final 12 MTN Hit-Maker Contestants Revealed

180810852_97730After almost two months of searching for the best contestants to take part in the second season of the music reality show MTN Hitmaker, the judges Bessa Simon, Ofie Cudjoe and Zapp Mallet have decided on the final twelve.

The twelve contestants who will be housed, groomed and taken through tutorials on how to carry on with their music business (whether they win or not) will soon appear on television to compete among themselves for the judges and the public to determine which of them would take over from Naterial as the next MTN Hitmaker.

Below are the short bio of contestants chosen by the judges who will blaze this years finals;

ABIGAIL ANTWI hails from Adumasa in the Eastern Region and lives in Tabora, Accra with her parents Janet and Alexander Owusu. She is a studio backing vocalist at PL Productions, Madina. She hopes to bring something new that cuts across the world. Ohemaa Mercy inspires her a lot. She believes she will be in the final 4. She decided to take part in MTN Hitmaker because it is original and also a show that celebrates people.

ALBERT BUABENG is married to Millicent Buabeng and they have two kids (last born is 7 months old). He is praise and worship leader at his church. He was paid in the church as a singer and later managed to buy his own taxi. He sees MTN Hitmaker as the biggest opportunity to launch his music career and his wife, Millicent is happy about his participation. He promises to bring African rhythm to gospel music. Meanwhile, Albert believes, God is using this opportunity to repay him for all the pains he has gone through.

STEPHEN KIM (KOFI KOREA) who lives in Tema Community 2 has recorded 12 songs which he is bringing to the show. He has been living with his auntie Yaa Serwaa since he was 7 years old because both his parents are dead. His auntie is unemployed but did well to take care of him.
Stephen says he is going to blow people’s mind with his music. He has been recording with dons’ entertainment owned by Mr Bright who encouraged him to pursue a career in music. Stephen has performed on Adom FM’s Temafest. When asked whether he will win the show he said he leaves everything to God. He is very excited and can’t wait to be on stage as he hopes his fans in Tema and everybody else will cheer him on.

OLEVYA ABA lives in Nungua with her parents and is a student at the Regent University studying Human Resource and IT. She has her own style called new pop or new soul. She believes she writes good music and has the ability to put Ghana on the international music market.

FIIFI SEY ARMAH lives at Sowutuom with his parents, Mr Sey Armah and Elizabeth Quayson. He is the second born of 3 children. He is a final year student of Takoradi Polytechnic reading Tourism. Fiifi is a Hip life artist who is bringing a lot of excitement into the game. It all started in the Junior High and the Senior High at Mfantsipim, a Sabah Picot from the A-KATA family. He has gone for shows like the shoe carnival in Tarkwa, Rasta Farian show at the Busia Beach and the Hall Week in UCC among others. He is very hopeful that he would come out as winner of the season two of MTN Hitmaker.

PRIZINERS is a duo made up of George Kwasi Sarpong aka Abraham and Christopher Boakye Yiadom aka Kojo Boakye. They live at Amamoma in Cape Coast and are graduates of the University of Cape Coast. Abraham read Mathematics because he is just passionate about it while Kojo Boakye also read Mathematics and Chemistry. Their love for music started in Senior High School where they met and called themselves Prizners. They create music on stage and are bringing the theatre or Art of Music to the show. Why Prizners? Because their philosophy is that everybody is a prisoner to something because “no man has experienced total liberation.”

JAMILATU MOHAMMED lives at Zongo Junction, on the Sukura/Mamprobi road. She lives with her mom, Joyce Sawyer and a stepbrother. She does not like to talk about her father. She attended Meridian Pre-University where she studied DBS Marketing and completed in 2013. She taken part in Adom FM’s Kasahari for almost two years. She became known as ‘seely girl mily’ as a result of her musical prowess in Junior High and Senior High Schools. She believes she is a cool girl and will entertain everybody.

MIGUEL ODURO DANIELS lives alone at Lapaz and has been living alone for 19 years. He does music professionally and owns a studio called Krucyfyx with his cousin. They have been running the studio for 12 years. He believes he has what it takes to take part in MTN Hitmaker and also come out as winner. He is a Senior High School graduate and comes from Mpraeso in the Eastern region. He was mostly inspired by his elder brother, Stone (David Agyapong) but now is inspired by Damien Marley, Lil Wayne and Nas. His stage name is Qwabyna.

NANA ADOBEA lives at Odorkor and is married to Eric Tetteh who is a pastor at Hallel Missions in Darkoman with whom she has a four year old daughter. She sells earrings at Odorkor and has been in music for 20 years despite being 27 years old. She goes to church at Glorious World Chapel and is the main singer at the church. She is a member of the No Tribe Crew and is also a backup singer at Nacy Studios (Accra), K.B Studios (Kumasi) and Okyeame Kofi’s Studio (Accra).

HUSSEIN MUSAH lives at Efiekuma No 9 in Takoradi. He is a graduate of NAFTI where he studied Film Directing. He is the fourth of nine children. He is a twin to a sister called Hassana Musah.
While in Senior High School he was named the second runner up in a street battle in Togo and the first runner up at another street battle in Kano, Nigeria. He also was first runner up in a radio competition at Great FM in Accra. He believes MTN Hitmaker is giving all underground musicians the opportunity to let the world to hear and see what they are made of.
He hopes that with a strong backing from the Skyy Power FM and his fans in the Western Region, he will not disappoint.

KOO NTAKARA lives in Jumapo in Koforidua with his mum and three brothers. He is the last born. He completed the Kwabeng Anglican Senior High School two years ago.
He started music during street battles until his underground engineer Mr Wings discovered him and recorded his first demo. His mother sells Banku, Akple and Kokonte in a “chop bar” she owns at Jumapo. It was mummy’s work that took him to school. He wants to become a super star and he is bringing pure Akwapim style to GH Rap music.

GILBERT BOSSU lives with his parents, Mr Hope Aforve, a fisherman and Mrs Divine Kuffor, a fishmonger at Adina in the Ketu South District of the Volta Region. Since graduating from Bishop Herman College at Kpando in the Volta Region, Gilbert has been managing his own barbering shop – Cano-Z. He also enrolled part-time at Ghallywood and studied acting and introduction to modelling.

Gilbert started his music career from the Pentecost church and after listening to lots of other people’s music, he decided to try his own music. He promises to give all his best on the MTN Hitmaker Show and to return home with the crown and prize.

The twelve contestants will then take part in the weekly television shows where the contestant with least public votes would be evicted till only four remain. According to the producers of the show, the TV stations that will air the series are GTV, Metro TV, GhOne TV, Multi TV and etv.

A grand final showdown would be held for the last four to perform alongside established artistes to determine who wins season two of MTN Hitmaker.

The MTN Hitmaker Season Two has a prize package of a recording and artiste management deal worth GH¢100,000 for the winner, and GH¢50,000 for the first runner-up. The winner of the maiden MTN Hitmaker reality show was Naterial with Miriam as the runner up.
