First Eviction On “The Next Big Thing”

This week's task for the NBT emcees was to sing about peace as we nearing the December election.

Before the night performance could start, two emcees had to be evicted from the competition. Viewers votes and judges scores were compiled to get the results. The emcees who made it to bottom four are Jojo, Mr Illegal, Nate-Pro and King Kosovo.

Eventually Mr Illegal and King Kosovo were evicted from the completion
having the lowest votes. Okyeame Kwame told the evictees that being evicted is not the world their hip hop career and that he hopes to perform with them on the same stage one day.

The night saw the emcees singing about peaceful elections. Some emcees called on the youth to help maintain peace come this year's elections. Others called on political heads to desist from political insults as that can incite wars. Some emcees called on the media to report positive things about political parties and leave the negatives behind since the general public depends on them for information.

Some emcees were of the view that to have peaceful elections, depends on all of us so on the day of voting; every individual should peacefully leave the polling stations.

All emcees advised that we should respect each other's political opinions and affiliations and made references to what happened in our neighboring countries like Togo and Liberia who due to political indifferences saw citizens amputated.

Intro to a hip hop song is very critical hence some emcees decided to use a peace speech by the late president as their intro which won the hearts of the judges. Some emcees used humor to drive their message home whiles some lost their composure in the second verse of the songs.

On the whole, the night's performance was entertaining with all emcees feeling patriotic. Their peace song had good punch lines, rhyming, and good content and was well delivered. The judges were impressed with the remaining ten emcees especially having to produce a song in a week and sing it without looking on a script marks the hallmark of promising emcees.

Viewers are still advised to for their favorite emcee by texting their names to short code 1757 and also log on the Facebook page for more information as two more emcees will be evicted on the next show. To be part of the live audience one needs to be seated at the GHOne by 4pm on Sunday or catch the live performance at 6pm on Sunday and a repeat on Tuesday at 9am.
