Four Keys To A Purposeful Life

These 4 keys are a must.

I will define a purposeful life as one that makes itself available and relevant towards the advancement of a worthy cause.  You are living a purposeful life when you contribute to save the vulnerable from the risk of  life. You are living a purposeful life when you contribute to building a broken system, when you contribute to creating wealth where poverty has limited the standard of living, when you contribute to changing a bad political leadership, when you contribute to responding to crises of society. You can count numerous of them. Here are four keys to make that kind of life a possibility:
Deal with the Chaos

Chaos necessitates creativity. The beginning of the creation story serves as a classical example for you to understand the essence of life. The story begins by telling the reader what God did in the beginning-He created heaven and earth. Instead of rolling out the various stages immediately, the story takes a twist to remind the reader how the earth actually was before creation begun-formless, empty and full of darkness. The story goes on from the beginning through to the sixth day. He rested on the seventh day. Now this is what adds to the import of the entire story as a relevant story in understanding how to live a purposeful life. “And God saw everything that He had created, and behold it was very good. This is what purposeful living is all about. Deal with the chaos and ensure there is a positive change that will influence others.

Do not let the noise pull you down.

Anything you start will face resistance. One of such resistances is the noise those around you will make. It is normal. It comes from those who do not understand the course of action you have taken. They will say all kinds of things against you and give so many reasons why you are likely to fail. The noise will get you confused, discouraged and distracted.  Keep the momentum. See the noise as a test of your conviction. You will make it if you do not give up.  Choose your course of action prayerfully and make sure you are convinced enough. After that, keep moving and do not pay heed to the noise.

Take responsibility

Nothing happens by chance. Take responsibility for whatever happens in your life. Everything happens for a purpose. As Albert Einstein puts it, “God does not play dies”. When human beings were put in the garden after creation, God commanded them to take and cultivate it. Not only to take care of it, but to also take charge of its growth and sustainability. For instance, after hundreds of years later, we have developed other means of transport apart from horses and camels; we have developed communication systems that allow us to communicate with each other without having to transport ourselves from one end to the other. All these happened because someone decided to take responsibility.

Make sure you do it well.

No one is ready to spend their money and time on inferior products. In the same vein, if you are not giving out your best in whatever you are doing, you are not worth any attention. I am not talking about perfection-just give out your best. Whatever you are doing today, see it as connected to your purpose in life. See the big picture. It is by so doing you will appreciate the need to apply all your efforts and ability. If you want to carry a product to the market, make sure it is what the consumers want. It must be good. If you are writing a book, make sure you write it well. If you are singing make sure you sing well. If you are selling, make sure you sell well. If you are dating, make sure you do it well. Just make sure you do it well.
