Gasmilla gets support for Homowo cleanup campaign
Musician, Gasmilla, is embarking on a cleanup campaign which will be climaxed with a street jam during this year’s Homowo festival.
An initiative of Fisherman Records, which the artiste owns and is signed to, the campaign aims to clean beaches in Osu, La, Ga Mashie, Teshie and Nungua. He is being supported by the Chiefs in the various communities to make the campaign a success.
“My intent is to make an impact on young people and the community as a whole through my music, social activities and workshops, the Homowo cleanup exercise been one of those initiatives. I will be interacting with my fans also on the various days.”
He hopes that, the cleanup exercise would help the various communities adopt a spirit of cleanliness, he told the press this week. The campaign will start from Osu on August 22 and end at Nungua on September 12.
The cleanup exercise will be climaxed with a street jam in the evening. He he would be joined by some mainstream musicians and media personalities including EL, Okyeame Kwame and Naa Ashorkor.
The campaign has enjoyed some celebrity endorsements from friends Bola Ray, Andy Dosty , Nii Ayi Tagoe , Kwame Bee , Wanlov , Funny Face and Bukom Banku.
Dates for the activities in the various communities are as follows
Ga Mashie – August 15, 2015.
Osu – August 22, 2015.
La – August 29, 2015.
Teshie – September 5, 2015.
Nungua – September 12, 2015.
