*GES Director General Tours Intervention Training Centres*

The Director General of the Ghana Education Service, Prof Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa, has assured participants (core subject teachers in second cycle Schools) of the ongoing workshop that measures have been put in place to address issues especially the delay of food that characterized the first day of the training programme.

Participants at the University of Ghana complained of late arrival of breakfast and lunch forcing some to buy their own foods.

In an address with participants, Prof Opoku-Amankwa decried the unfortunate incident as he profusely apologized for the inconveniences caused.

He explained that the Matrons were overwhelmed with the numbers and the timely manner in which these foods must be served.

“From this experience, additional matrons have been brought on board to ease pressure on the food preparations”, the Director General said.

Evidently, things were grossly improved in the arrival of the breakfast this morning as participants were served timeously and without incident.

He urged the participants to take the exercise seriously as government had invested good money in the training that is aimed at equipping teachers with the needed content and pedagogical skills that will lead to improved teaching and learning and better learning outcomes.

He praised the teachers for their patience during those difficult moments.
