GH Rocks…high adrenaline…non-stop action

It was a night for Ghanaian music from different levels, the native GH music matching up with their folks from the UK boot-for-boot.

This year’s GH Rocks finally got the Stryder man, Tinchy Stryder, to making his first ever homecoming to the land of his birth after attaining stardom internationally.

This young chap, named as the biggest selling artistes in the UK this year, has cemented his name internationally after signing a record deal with Hip hop artiste and mogul Jay Z.

On the night of December 27, Monday, fans trooped to the Dome of the Accra International Conference Centre in their numbers to celebrate excellence in music from their most loved artistes both in Ghana and the UK.

Tinchy was on a mission to make his presence felt in Ghana and possibly lay a strong foundation here. He performed several of his chart topping tracks including In My System, Number 1 and Game Over.

Apart from Tinchy Stryder, Donaeo was making a second appearance at the show with the introduction of new comers KIG Family summing up the UK crew.

These artistes were just unique in their own ways and it was the smartest decision on the part of the organisers, Charter House, to get rid, of all if not some, of the seats at the venue paving the way for the audience thirst to dance non-stop.

Donaeo definitely needed no introduction after hitting the Ghanaian and the world music scene with his smash hit Party Hard, the audience were expectant and he did deliver. His new joint, I’m Fly got everyone flying.

KIG Family did not tread cautiously, from the very second they hit the stage, it was all fireworks from the Head, Shoulders, Kneez & Toez and it was just a beauty to behold as the audience choreograph to the tunes.

In the Ghanaian corner, VIP, Asem, Ayigbe Edem, Tinny, Castro, Trigmatic, 55 and Iwan as usual displayed what they are known for.

Legendary VIP were at it again doing their thing and bringing the house down; they brought to bear their several years of experience.

Their performance was a mixture of the old and new songs.

Individually all the artistes on the bill lived up to expectation as it was obvious that almost all the fans left the venue fulfilled.
