Ghana begins usage of drones for the transportation of COVID-19 samples
In a bid to expedite the rate at which COVID19 samples are being tested, the government has begun using drones to transport samples to laboratories for testing.
The president yesterday revealed we have a backlog of 18,ooo samples to be done. The samples are from the enhanced contact tracing instituted by the Ghana Health Service.
Some people questioned the usefulness of the drones we spent so much on during this pandemic time.
The President in his 7th address to the nation revealed what the government was doing about the drones.
“Government has also introduced the use of drones to expedite the transportation of samples to laboratory centres. On Friday, 17th April, for example, fifty-one (51) samples were delivered from the Omenako Drone Distribution Centre to Noguchi,” he said.
