Ghana Cocoa Board offers 99,468 bags of fertilizers to Western North farmers
The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has presented a total of 99,468 bags of Cocoa fertilizers to be distributed to 126 farmer cooperative groups within Wiawso and Akontombra districts of the Western North Region. This gesture taken to strengthen the cocoa sector was done through the Cocoa Health and Extension Division (CHED) division.

The officer in charge, Mr. John Ahi – Boako District Technical Officer explained that the 126 farmers corporative groups who received these fertilizers were from the Wiawso and Akontombra districts with a maximum number of between 250 and 300 members in each group.
He reiterated how he has chalked success over the period with the support of the farmer groups and has helped prune all the selected farms to pave way for the application of the fertilizers.
He asserted that the farmer cooperatives were used to ensuring that the government-sponsored agrochemicals were fairly distributed to the rightful beneficiaries.
