Ghana Movie Awards Jury Apologize To Ama K. Abebrese
Jury of the upcoming Ghana Movie Awards has apologized for removing ‘Sinking Sands’ lead actress Ama K Abebrese from the Discovery of the Year category of the Ghana Movie Awards, which is scheduled for December 25.
According to the Jury, the inclusion of the actress’ name in the respective category was a mistake, citing a typographical error during the typing of the names of nominees for the media. Prince Tsega, a member of the Planning Committee, said the action taken by the Jury should not be misconstrued as a deliberate act of sabotage to the hardworking actress.
“We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience this correction may cause to the actress and any other person that it might affect.” The movie awards nominations were released last week Friday at a huge nominees’ party at the plush Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra, which attracted a number of movie stakeholders.
At the event were celebrated names such as Fred Amugi, David Dontoh, Kofi Middleton Mends, Emmanuel Amah, Jackie Appiah, Nadia Buari, Majid Michel, John Dumelo and a number of others.
G.P Limited, who are organizing the awards ceremony in collaboration with Multi TV, congratulated all and sundry who took time off their busy schedules to be part of the nominees’ party. No tags for this post.
