Ghana Music Awards nominees list to be unveiled in 2 Days

With the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards set to air in 8 weeks from today, it was also announced that the GMA nominees list will be unveiled live on Ghone Entertainment Television.

This year’s show will be more modern than ever, as it launched the campaign under the slogan “Recharged…for the love of music,” where a new Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Academy has also been instituted comprising of Paulina Oduro, Amandzeba Nat Brew and Abraham Ohene Djan.

Mrs Theresa Ayoade, Executive Director of Charter House said the strategy this year it will be getting viewers to interact throughout the entire show.

Another surprise package coming from the headline sponsors includes 2,000 GHC for each winner, and 10,000 GHC for the Artist of the Year. The winner of the World Bank sponsored Music for Development category also wins a whopping cash prize of 5,000 GHC.

“We recognize that Ghanaian artistes need support beyond the recognition they receive with the Music Awards. The idea of the Foundation is to give them the opportunity to build on their success at the awards by giving them knowledge and business acumen to deliver more ambitious productions and build larger audiences. By associating the Foundation with a prestigious award festival such as the VGMAs, we hope to give Ghanaian music and entertainment industry a boost in Africa and the rest of the world, said Uche Ofodile, Chief Marketing Officer of Vodafone Ghana.

The audience of Ghanaian music’s top stars filled the garden side of the Golden Tulip as KOD steered the launch with ease as the MC with performances coming from Efya, Adina, Jayso, Gifty Osei and Guru.
