Ghanaian film, ‘Lucky’ Gets Multiple International Film Festival Selections

Ghanaian film, Lucky gets several international film festival selections. Moreover, this is after a successful premiere in Ghana. The movie received raving reviews from peers and industry insiders

The first was Lights Camera Africa Film Festival 2018. Furthermore, this came one week ahead of its release in September of 2018. The 75 Minute clip received official selection by the Festival International du Film PanAfricain de Cannes 2019. Moreover, this made ​LUCKY ​the first full-length feature film selected from Ghana, throughout the history of the festival. The third selection is the Hip Hop Film Festival West Africa 2019. This takes place in Abijian, Cote D’Ivoire on 25 February, 2019.

Ghanaian filmmaker, Togbe Gavua wrote and directed the story. Toge is a Ghanaian filmmaker, who is dedicated to telling a true “African Story.” The film follows the story of Lucky Barima Mensah, a handsome Twitter-famous university student who lands a date with the most desired girl on social media Nuttifafa

He tries to raise money to take Nuttifafa on a date that he cannot afford. Therefore, he teams up with his longtime friend Wadaada, a loud, flamboyant third year student of the University of Ghana, to raise money which becomes an adventure that leaves the audience on the edge of their seats.

LUCKY​ ‘s story reflects the experience of many young people today who use social media. ​Also, LUCKY continues to participate in film festivals and will eventually do campus tours in Ghana, the US and UK.
