Ghanaian musician Kwabena Kwabena loses dad

Highlife musician George Kwabena Adu, popularly known as Kwabena Kwabena, has lost his dad.

Mr. Samuel Kwadwo Boadu, 73, died last Thursday in Accra. He had been battling an undisclosed ailment for some time.

Kwabena Kwabena, speaking in an interview with Myjoyonline.com said his father played a pivotal role in his music career.

“My dad influenced my growth in music because [he] is somebody who loved music a lot, though he didn’t do music professionally. My dad played all kinds of music. I grew up listening to all genre of music. That is what I would say is so influential on my career,” he said.

According to the ‘Bue Kwan’ hit singer, his father’s passing is “such a loss but I would say that it’s for the better. He has done his part and may his soul rest in peace.”

Kwabena Kwabena said the family will meet on Thursday to observe his father’s one week celebration. The family will subsequently announce funeral arrangements.

His dad left behind four children, including Kwabena Kwabena.
