Ghanaian Musicians Don’t Listen To Advice – Papa Bills

Papa bills who has spent over 13 years with Adom FM, told Flex Newspaper that before he landed at Adom FM, he had worked with a recording studio. He continued that after acquiring some experience in the recording studio, he had the opportunity to work with Adom FM.

As to what the secret is, and the reason why he has been able to work with Multimedia for over 13 years, he said his ability to always do better and work harder made his fans and listeners increased and by so doing the management saw the need to maintain him.

He said that a lot of radio stations have approached him but to him, it is not the matter of jumping from one radio station to the other but rather making the right decisions and being at the right radio stations at a particular time.

Papa Bills who won the best radio producer of the year, last two years in the Radio and TV Personality Awards, is not only a presenter, a DJ or a producer on radio but also works and supports in discovering music talents especially new entrants labeled as underground artistes.

Talking about why he’s not active in the management of musicians, he responded that Ghanaian musicians don’t listen to advice.

“I have invested a lot in some particular musicians like Danso Abeam to make his music a hit and after spending a lot on him, he went around to say that I did nothing for him. I have also helped other musicians to make their music a hit yet when they become stars they turn you down.

It is just simple; when they don’t have, they pretend to be calm – but immediately you push them to the limelight they refuse to listen to advice, so because of my past experiences with musicians I am not really concentrating on artistes management any more, but if God touches my heart and I meet someone someday and I think the person deserves to be assisted, I will but don’t forget I still manage Dadie Opanka,” he lamented.

Papa Bills who is known in real life as Bills Gborgli advised upcoming radio personalities, not to concentrate too much on making quick money in the business, but rather serve the good purpose of which they have been employed.
