Okudzeto Ablakwa paying salaries of private school teachers

One problem that has come with coronavirus is job losses and salary cuts across the globe.  Economies of nations, firms, and households are underperforming and are on their knees.

Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has reported on social media that he is paying the salaries o all private school teachers in his constituencies.

Private School owners are unable to cough monies to pay salaries in the face of school closure and they are not receiving school fees again – the primary source of salaries for their employees.

I have been in touch with the leadership of the 45 private basic schools in my beloved constituency to find out how they are coping with the exigencies of the times and to express my solidarity.

Sad to hear that unlike their counterparts in the public sector, teaching and non-teaching staff have not received salaries since March, thanks to COVID-19.

In the unfortunate circumstances, I have notified the leadership of private schools of a new MP’s initiative to offer a cash compensation package to all 570 teaching and non-teaching staff at the end of this month (May).

I am particularly delighted that I have also secured assurances that no teacher would be laid off in these difficult times.

We are all in this together. We defeat COVID-19 together and we rise from the ashes together.

Angel Obinim, Obofour, Owusu Bempah and co ignored as Prez invites “serious men of God”

With the recent soaring cases of the deadly health issues in the country, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has called for a breakfast meeting with the various heads of religious bodies to hold a prayer session at the Jubilee House in Accra for Ghana and the world at large.

Present at the meeting were members of the Christian Council, Bishop Conference, Rev. Eastwood Anaba, Archbishop Duncan Williams and other “experienced men of God”.

Now, the recent concerns of many Ghanaians have to do with the absence of self-acclaimed powerful pastors, angels and prophets like founder and leader of Ebenezer Miracle Worship Center – Reverend Opambour Ebenezer, Dr. Prophet Isaac Owusu Bempah who is the Founder and Leader of Glorious Word, Angel Obinim – the founder and head pastor of International God’s Way Church, Anointed Palace Chapel’s founder – Rev. Obofour and the likes.

Why were all the above pastors absent in such a crucial gathering of powerful men of God? Is it the case of the men being separated from the boys?
