Highlife Music Legend Prince Morocco Maduka Dies At 73
Chief Emeka Morocco Maduka, a famous Igbo music legend and Ekpili music crooner, is dead.
Morroco, the oldest Igbo performing musician alive, recently passed away on Thursday, October 29 at the age of 73 according to the chairman of Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, (PMAN), Anambra State, Hon Ikem Mazeli through their official Facebook page.
In a statement released, other arrangements as regards his burial will be communicated subsequently.
Hon Mazeli wrote:
“Exit of a Legend. With heavy heart of sorrow…We the entire Anambra state PMAN announce the exit of a music Legend (Dr Prince Morroco Maduka…..Ozonweluibe). He passed on this afternoon (Thursday, October 29th, 2020). All other arrangements as regards his planting to mother earth will be communicated to all of us later. One Love.”
The news of his death comes after he recently celebrated his 60years anniversary on stage. He was famous with the Ekpilimusic genre and his followership cuts across the world, including United States of America, Europe and Asia.
The Ukwulu, Anambra-born music maestro, started his music career at the age of 14 and he is famous for songs like Asiri 98, Ife Oma, Akalaka etc.
