Highlife songs are not sinful – Ofori Amponsah

Converted highlife singer Ofori Amponsah says he has just realised that creating hilife music is his God given talent.

According to him, he quit performing hilife because he felt it was sinful but has suddenly realised that it is the only gift God gave him to bring happiness to people.

“ Highlife song is not circular. Initially I had a problem singing when I saw Christ but with time, I have come to realise that it is a gift God gave me for mankind and I don’t have to ignore it,” the ‘Otoolege’ singer told Afia Schwarzenegger on Kasapa FM Friday.

He also noted that he will not shy away from singing his old hilife tunes if he gets the opportunity to perform on any stage as he sets to promote his new album which features popular hiplife artiste Sarkodie.

The ‘Sardine’ hitmaker downplayed fears that his church members will be worried if they saw him performing hilife songs in public, saying the members will understand that he is only utilizing the talent God gave him.
