(HIPC?): Ghana is poor and highly indebted – Manasseh Awuni Azure says

Multiple award-winning investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni has said that even though Ghana has not been declared as a HIPC country, the country is poor.

There was a rumor yesterday that the country’s Dept -GDP ratio makes it qualify for a HIPC program. But the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has described that claim as misleading and flawed. They said no country can go for a HIPC support two times.
Manasseh Azure said the facts on the ground are that the country is poor and highly indebted.
He said:

Ghana hasn’t been declared HIPC, but we’re poor. And highly indebted.
