I Don’t Believe In Tribalism Because I Have Boyfriends From Volta & Northern Regions – Nana Yaa Brefo

Seasoned broadcast journalist, screen diva and philanthropist, Nana Yaa Brefo of Angel 102.9 Fm has waded into the supposed tribal sentiment looming in the corridors of our political circles.

Readers can recall that former President John Dramani Mahama had shared a post from Hon. Isaac Adongo’s Facebook page which had a caption relating to “Akyem Sakawa and mafia” concerning the Agyapa deal. Reacting to this, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo had called on some religious leaders to enquire why they had not condemned such a comment. Vice President Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia has also called on the former president to apologize unreservedly.

During Angel Fm’s morning show discussion with Kwamena Sam Binney, the former Adom TV staff – Nana Yaa Brefo rubbished the notion that tribalism could send the country into war. This is because she says Ghanaians understand each other and mingle altogether with other tribes. She further stated that, she personally cannot be a tribal bigot because some of her boyfriends are from Volta Region and Northern Region.
