I will campaign for Mahama in 2016 – Mr. Beautiful

One of Ghana’s celebrated actors, Mr. Beautiful said he is not out of movies but most movie producers jointly decided not to feature him in movies.

The star actor, known in private life as Clement Bonney, said since he campaigned for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during the 2012 presidential elections, movie producers especially the Kumasi-based ones have decided not to feature him in their movies.

Speaking on Adom FM’s entertainment show, Entertainment Hall hosted by Mike 2, Saturday, Mr. Beautiful revealed that he has not regretted for campaigning for President John Mahama.

According to him, he will still campaign for President Mahama come 2016.  “Im an NDC man and I have printed out my own T-shirt to campaign for John Mahama in 2016” Beautiful disclosed.

He added that if some producers in Kumasi have decided to end his acting career abruptly because of his party affiliation then they have reduced the quality of entertainment to Ghanaians because he made a lot of Ghanaians develop love for Ghanaian movies.

“Mr. Beautiful is a multi talented actor and in Ghana there are only four multi talented actors/actress; Nana Ama Mcbrown, Akrobeto, Majeed and myself (Mr. Beautiful)” he claimed.

According to him there are other actors/actresses who can never play any other role apart from the roles they are known for. He said “Agya Koo and Mr. Ibu cannot act any other serious role in movies apart from comedies”.

The celebrated actor said he has never been featured in any movie since 2012 but lived a good life. “I have my own infinity car and have my family so I have no worry”.

Beautiful affirmed that a renowned mobile phone dealer, MC phone near Odo Rise at Circle in Accra gave him GH¢100,000.00 (1billion cedis) to start a movie but he returned the money to the man and said “God has not told me to produce movies and if I should do it the movie producers will sabotage me and it will be cost”.

He recalled a situation where Fiifi Banson of Peace FM went for a programme in Kumasi, met some of the producers to reconsider giving a role to Mr. Beautiful in their movies but Jackson Bentum made it blankly that he (Mr. Beautiful) is a member of the NDC so his movie will not sell in Kumasi because most of these producers are members of the New Patriotic Party.

Mr. Beautiful further added that Paul Gee told a movie producer who wanted to market his movies in Kumasi that if Mr. Beautiful is part of the movie he (Paul Gee) will not market it because his party affiliation is the New Patriotic Party.

“If Kumasi movies producers have rejected my movies because of my party affiliation, I am doing a visibility study to act and market my movies in Accra rather than in Kumasi”. Mr. Beautiful stated.

He added that nobody in Ghanaian movie is a good “fante” actor like him.
