I will come like a thief – Ayigbe Edem

Hiplife artiste, Edem Agbeviadey known in showbiz as Ayigbe Edem has said his yet to be released album, Mass Production, is going to be a transition from his first, Volta Regime, which shot him into instant fame.

The artiste speaking to Hitz Entertainment News disclosed that the album holds the core theme of him trying to put out materials that are appealing to his support base and the general public.

“…It basically is a transition from me being an artiste with a first album and now trying to put music out that will be appealing to everybody that has supported me. Now the album is Mass Production because it is going to be made easily available and affordable to everybody in a sphere of life in the country.”

Unlike his previous album, released in 2009, which was solely recorded by sound engineer, Hammer of the Last Two fame, the album, he said, holds a mixture of unique beats produced by various engineers.

“It is also Mass production because unlike my previous album that was solely recorded by Hammer, this album has been recorded by various beat producers and then thirdly, it is also Mass Production because this album, people will touch on other areas of my act that they didn’t get to see on my previous album.”

Ayigbe Edem who won the Hip Hop /Hiplife song of the year at the 2010 edition of the Ghana Music Awards said the album will hit the market like a thief who comes in the night without announcing.

“I am not going to give specific dates because I kept saying from my previous album that I am going to come like a thief in the night. You wake up one morning, watch TV and we are back in your face.”

Reacting to Asem’s controversial 2010 Fylla song which Asem said was a review of the entertainment industry for the year 2010, Edem said he does not see himself reacting to the song although his name was mentioned in it.

Asem touched on several major happenings in the industry including Edem’s love-turn-sour relationship with Confidence Haugen, owner of Afrodisiac Nite Club.

“…Asem is actually assessing the year from what is in the media and he has his opinion as an artiste as he asked a rhetorical question to people who are listening and I don’t think I should be the one to answer his song by speaking. If I have to in any way answer his song then it has to be the means by which he put out the question by going into the studio to answer,” adding that he does not see himself doing that.
