The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party has vowed to bring the political career of former President Mahama to an end by constantly exposing his “double standards” on issues related to the compilation of a new voters register.

Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako in an interview with Peacefmonline.com explained that the approach being applied by Mr. Mahama on the matter is “disrespectful, considering that he never opposed any decision of the Electoral Commission when he appointed Madam Charlotte Osei to head the Commission”.

According to him, on 14th November, 2016, former President Mahama made a profound statement that “the Inter-party Advisory Committe (IPAC) is a forum for political parties to participate in making suggestions to the Electoral Commission. Let us use this vehicle to cooperate with the Electoral Commission and make our suggestions known. Demonstrations against the Commission will not enhance the process of our elections in any way.”

Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako therefore wondered what had happened to the principle former President Mahama proposed to Ghanaians when there was heat on the EC to go by what the Supreme Court had directed it to do.

It is based on this history that the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, vowed to “destroy the political career” of the former President if he continues to attack the integrity of the EC.

He noted that the attacks and hypocrisy displayed towards the EC by the former President and NDC was “legendary” and ought to be dealt as quickly as possible.
