I’m your Artiste of the Year; Each nominee claims

The Artiste of the Year is the topmost award  and all the artistes in this category believe they deserve to win.

Edem who had nine nominations out of the 25 categories told Showbiz  on Monday that no artiste worked better than he did last year and therefore the award should come to him.

“Apart from my hit song Koene making it big around the country, I was on almost all the major entertainment platforms wowing the crowd with my performances” he said.

Similarly, the camp of MzVee believes she stands the chance of winning the Artiste of the Year due to her performances and releases last year.

MzVee’s manager, Richie Mensah of Lynx Entertainment told Showbiz, his artiste was capable of winning the topmost award because she really worked hard.

“No female musician worked better than MzVee that is why she should win the Artiste of the Year award. I know the artistes in contention for that category are tough but MzVee deserves it most”, Riche said.

The Bosam Ani hitmaker, Guru, is of the view that last year was such a good one for him and he deserves the Artiste of the Year award..

“No artiste released more hits singles than me, I had not less than six hit singles last year and performed on almost all the big entertainment platforms. This year is my year and everyone knows that”, Guru said.

Stonebwoy claims his works last year can be described by Ghanaians as awesome. “It is a fact that Stonebwoy was the artiste who reigned last year. I don’t want to blow my own horn but my works speak for themselves. On almost all the shows I was featured on, I killed it making me stand tall among my peers. I really deserve the Artiste of the Year award” he said.

According to Stonebwoy, all the artistes nominated are potential winners but he believes he deserves to be awarded the Artiste of the Year due to his input last year.

Sarkodie’s manager, Sammy Forson thinks his artiste who continues  to wow Ghanaians with his stage performances and music deserves the Artiste of the Year award.  “Getting nominated in 11 categories is enough reason to tell anyone that Sarkodie deserves it.

Sarkodie will always remain on top because he works hard every year. His Adonai Remix Ft Castro, Love Rocks Ft Samini among other releases was all over the place last year. The Artiste of the Year award is for him” Sammy Forson said.

Although many think Samini was not that active in the music scene last year and therefore should not have been nominated in the Artiste of the Year category, Samini’s camp believe he did well.

“I don’t know why people say Samini was not active. He performed on not less than six major events and released about two hit singles including features. He deserves the Artiste of the Year because he worked very hard” says Tony, a representative from Samini’s camp.

There is also huge debate as to why  Daddy Lumba is in the Artiste of the Year category owing to the fact that he was not so active on the music scene apart from releasing his hit song Ye Nea Woho Beto Wo. He was not really that active like the other artistes in the Artiste of the Year category.

Come  Apirl 11 at the Accra International Conference Centre, Ghanaians will know who will emerge the Artiste of the Year.
