Information Minister explains why Prez. Akufo-Addo always addresses the nation late



A few Ghanaians have on countless occasions raised genuine concerns about the late address and sometimes the rescheduling of the address of the President.

The President has so far had 7 addresses with the nation and all those moments were held after 9:00 pm.

President Akufo-Addo’s 7th COVID-19 address last Sunday was supposed to be at 8 pm but was later moved to 9 pm.



Providing reasons for the said action, Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said before the President addresses the nation he has to meet with all stakeholders.

The various recommendations given are what informs the address making it a bit difficult for it to be very early because these recommendations need to be strategically coordinated and rightly put into a speech.

Oppong Nkrumah also said that sometimes the recording session of the President’s speech delays the process.
