Is ‘Maame Dokono’ Back In Politics?

Fans of popular actress and broadcaster Grace Omaboe aka Mame Dokono may be wondering what she’s been up to of late.

Well, the 63-year old multi-talented woman has disclosed to ‘Showbiz’ that she’s coming back into active service soon after she was charged for operating an orphanage without license and exposing a child to harm in 2009. “I have gone through a lot after that allegation but I have a number of projects I will be embarking on this year” said Maame Dokono.

Known for hosting By The Fire Side on GTV, W’asetena Mu Te Sen, a talk show on Net 2 and Odo Ne Asomdwee on Metro TV, Maame Dokono said she will be going into radio very soon, something she had always dreamt of doing.

According to her, she has nurtured this dream for a very long time and she feels it’s about time she goes for it to tackle social issues. “I feel there are a lot of issues bothering society which are waiting to be solved and I want to draw attention to them”, she said.

Currently, Maame Dokono has turned her orphanage, Peace and Love International Foundation into a school, Graceful Grace Academy in Adenta where she is the administrator. She remains silent on whether she will go into politics this year but when she was further pushed she claimed in some few months Ghanaians will know her stand.

She says she hasn’t totally forgotten about acting yet. “I still have the passion to act; I haven’t forgotten about it totally, it’s something I have been thinking about these past few months”.

What has kept her from the public arena, Maame Dokono explained, was that she travelled to Europe to visit her children. She fell ill and needed to treat herself in the US but now that she has fully recovered, she feels it’s time she comes back to her country, Ghana.
