Personally, apart from Kofi Adu aka Aya Koo’s immense contributions towards the projection of Kumawood into the limelight, Kwadwo Nkanasah aka Lilwin is the next gem to have singlehandedly carried Kumawood on his thin shoulders.
I am not in any way sidelining the likes of Empress Nana Ama McBrown, Kwaku Manu, Frank Nero, Ras Nene, the Late Bishop Nyarko, Mercy Aseidu, Christiana Awuni, Kyeiwaa and all the other talented stars but Lilwin has really come far with acting in Kumasi.
Over the years there has been rumours about how Lilwin has had to defend himself against former friends, managers, colleagues and so forth. People who have supposedly severed their ties with Lilwin like Zack GH (Lilwin’s former Manager), Young Chorus (Mama Boss Papa feat.), Top Kay (Nyame Gye Me feat.), Andy (of TV3 Mentor fame), Odehyieba (Ladder feat), Guru and other artistes blame the Kumawood star for his selfish interest and greed. How so?
Lilwin has over the years maintained his innocence in the face of all these allegations from the aforementioned personalities. He seems to be having this ‘beef’ or misunderstanding on a yearly basis and this year isn’t an exception (his fuss with Funny Face over the Best Actor Award).
What’s actually happening???
Are people preying on Lilwin’s illiteracy? (He once admitted in an interview to have bought a Facebook account for GHC3000.00 so you should get my analogy here…)
Can all these people be wrong in their projection of Lilwin’s greed or selfishness or Lilwin is just one of the enviable persons being subjected to the Ghanaian PhD (Pull Him Down) syndrome?
