John Dumelo takes on University of Ghana management over recurring accommodation challenge

Former NDC parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, John Dumelo has expressed worry over accommodation challenges on that persist on the University of Ghana campus.

During his campaign, John Dumelo promised to deal with the challenge once and for all in conjunction with TEIN when he’s given the nod; unfortunately he was voted against and the problem is not solved.
In light of the rising cases of COVID-19 in the country and the need to ensure social distancing, the management of the school has introduced a double track system to keep only a few students on campus at a time. Even with this policy, many students don’t still have accommodation and that has called for concerns from people like John Dumelo.

He has suggested to the management of the school to allow private investors to come in and save the situation.
In a post he made on Twitter,John Dumelo Said:

“So every year we have to deal with legon accommodation issues? Come on! There’s land and there are investors willing to put up more hostels to augment this accommodation deficit. Legon authorities, pls allow private partnerships. #legondemonstration”
