John Mahama Reports Ghana To More International Organizations Over Election Rigging
Ghana’s opposition candidate John Mahama on Thursday rejected as “fraudulent” the results of the country’s presidential and parliamentary elections in which President Nana Akufo-Addo won a second term.
“I stand before you tonight unwilling to accept the fictionalized results of a flawed election. We will take all legitimate steps to reverse this tragedy of justice,” he said.
Ghanaians expected him to have filed a petition at the Supreme Court y now but that has not been the case. He has been meeting international organizations and bodies to make his claim known to them.
He first met with the US Ambassador to Ghana who advised him to channel his grievances to the court.Yesterday, he met the General Secretay of the Common Wealth to brief him on his reasons for rejecting the results of the election. He wrote on his Twitter page:
