JUST IN: No one should refer to George Lutterodt as counselor again – Ghana Psychology Council indicate

George Carstensen Lutterodt known in the media as Counselor Lutherodt has been stripped off his title by the Ghana Psychology Council since he has no training in that field to be called a counselor.

To them, the primary role of counselors, psychologist and paraprofessionals is to promote and maintain the mental, psychological and well-being of individuals but not to undermine it.

Their comment comes on the backdrop of recent publication by Ghanaweb with regards to some utterances made by George Lutterodt to women with Natural hair. According to him, women with Natural hair are the most depressed beings on earth.

This claim, the Psychology Council say is not true and has to be regarded as infantile.

“Mr George Lutterodt is not qualified to make such statements which by any standard lend itself to scientific scrutiny, ” portion of the letter reads.

This and many other reasons has pushed the Psychology Council to plead with the media not to refer to George Lutterodt as a counselor because he is not.

The Psychology Council wishes to caution that media houses which air unfounded statements from unlicensed persons are contravening the laws of Ghana and propagating falsehood with the aim of deceiving and harming the good people of the country. Such statements are threats to the health of our country and should be discouraged and condemned by all,”.

Also the Psychology Council has called on the National Media Commission to sanction any media house that do not comply with the new initiative given out not to refer to George Lutterodt as a counselor.
